Mr. Keir Hardie, speaking at South Shields, referring to the deliberations of the trade union congress respecting the minimum day, said, that every trade unionist would bo asked to “down tools’’ when his eight hours was up. He hoped that this would be possible on May 1.
In another speech at Newcastle he said that,if needful he was prepared to advocated a strike for the right of the working classes to get -drunk at their leisure. , \
