July 12.—The North Taranaki .Hunt Club social that was held in St. John’s Hall on Thursday evening was very successful, about sixty couples being present. The floor was hot in good order for 4a nc i n gi owing, to the hail having beer? used for rinking, although, an expert had been engaged to prepare it. The hall was decorated by some of the lady members. Music for the dance was supplied by Batchelor’s Orchestra, which gave general satisfaction; extras were played oy Mrs, Passau and Misses Badley and Hellier. Supper was handed round at 10. SO p.m., and dancing, was continued until about ,2 a.m.' Mr.’ H. D. Matthews carried out the duties of M.C.
