There are now quite a number of fairly strong teams of cribbugeplayers in the Stratford district, and with them all our local players have been kept fairly busy. A return match is to bo played when the Stratford players are to visit Denbigh. The local men have also played a match with tho Skinner Hoad team, winning by 51 games to Skinner Hoad's 41. On the 6th instant tho usual euchre and cribbage tournament took place in tho schoolroom, there being a good muster of players. Tho euchre prim was won hy Master F. Carroll, and the cribbage prize by Mr. G. Ferguson. A visit to Denbigh was made by tho Waipuku players on Monday evening, July 8, which resulted in a win for the visitors by 28 games to 20. There was some very good nlay and a number of close finishes. The visitors were afterwards entertained at supper by the Denbigh players. A return match is to bo played in the near future. Wo are just now being favoured by tho presence of two lady evangelists, who have been conducting services in the school last week, and who nnpoar to have met with a very fair amount of success. On Sunday evening a service was conducted in the schoolroom, when thoughtful and spirited addresses were delivered by both the ladies to a largo and attentive audience.
