WAITARA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) April 22.—The bazaar in aid of the Catholic Church funds was brought to a conclusion on Saturday evening, ‘The hall was packed, and good husiucsswas reported, the takings amounting to about £240. From this sura the church, should profit to about the amount of £2OO. Ninety-three raffles were got off during the time the bazaar was and Mr. J. G. Russell as secretary was kept very busy. He is to bo complimented on the way that things were run. Mr. Russell had a good working committee. The drawing of the art union will take place at 7 o’clock this evening in the Clifton Hall, under the supervision of the Mayor and others, Mr. W. T. Jennings is being; given a complimentary social this evening by his Waitara friends. A presentation is also to bo given to him. The Hon. G. Laurenson will bo present at . the sopial.
