The * annual North Island inter-pro-vincial tournament for 1913 will be held in Taranaki, probably at New Plymouth. It is be hoped that on this occasion both Wellington and Hawke's Bay will send representatives to compete. Enthusiasm for the inter-provincial tournament scorns to he Inching in Hawke’s Bay and Wellington. It has been suggested that the presentation of a shield or banner, for annual provincial competition, would serve to awaken the necessary interest, ro enable the tourney to be carried on. It will be remembered that the great incentive of inter-national tennis is the Davis Cup, so it will be seen that there is some reason in the suggestion. An Auckland exchange states that the New Zealand Championship meeting will probably he held this year at Napier.
