HOMING NEWS.
The Now Plymouth East Flying Club held a flock race on Thursday of last week from AA’averlcy, a distance oi oS miles, for late-bred birds wearing 1911-12 rings. Eleven lofts were represented in the race, and, the weather being favourable, good times were recorded, the result being as follows; — D. Murphy’s Blue 801 l and H. J. Moverley’s Loretta, Ihr. 40min., 1; L. Whitaker’s Glenavon, Ihr. 44min., 3 ; A' • Kisby’s St. Elmo, Ihr. 48min., 4. On Saturday last the club held a most successful flock race from Araraoho, a distance of 83 miles, when 82 hire.-,, representing 15 lofts, .were kindly libe; ated by the stationmaster, and" a clos.- 1 race resulted. The north-east wind prevailing prevented fast times being recorded, but all birds homed in good style. The positions were filled by AT. Gunson’s Maori Boy, 2hr. 24mm.. 1; AA 7 . Kisby’s Ascot, 2hr. 24mm. lOaec.. 2; F. James’ Arcadia 11., 2br. 24mm. 20sec.,, 3; R. Davy’s Checkmate, 2hr. 24min., 40sec., 4. The next race will be a teams race from Aramoho, each member forwarding three birds.
