(From Our Own Correspondent.) April 17. —For a long time In the past there have been a few young men in the township who evidently hove an opinion that they could do just as they pleased, and on Saturday night last they quite excelled themselves by stripping one of the sitting rooms in the note! and smashing the furniture, and when they were put out one of them made an assault on the doers with an axe handle, splitting the panels in two and throwing a stone through the fanlight over the bar door. The trouble arose from the publican refusing to supply a youth, who was under the age. with beer. ’J here is not the slightest doubt in the writer’s mind that Mr. Erueny is conducting the hotel in a good and proper manner, and , lie is a man who will take no nonsense in his own house, However as proceeding are being taken against the ringleaders, I will say no more. Now that the electors of Egmont have a Prime Minister to represent them in Parliament they should feel proud with themselves and if you wish to meet people who have big opinions of the member go to Opunnko and they will toll you they are going to get the railway and a harbour and a tramway. Mr. F. Duggan has sold his farm on Kahui Road to Air. AV. Rothory; the price I hear, is £4 10s an acre. And Air. R. Alorrow has sold a bush section on the same road to Mr. Burns.
