SUGGESTED AMENDMENTS. Per Press Association. GREYMOI'TH, April 16. At the Chamber of Commerce meeting last evening the president (Mr. Felix Campbell) moved; That this Chamber expresses its appreciation of the Minister of Defence’s action in regard to the administration of the Defence Act, and that if it be desirable to eliminate the existing penal clauses from the Act that in lieu thereof the parent or tniardian of any boy who refuses to take the oath of allegiance or enrol be disfranchised from taking part in any election, and lose all right of citizenship in the Dominion ; and, further, that any boy refusing, against the wish of his parents, to enrol, shall, at the age of 21 years, be disfranchised from afl fights of citizenship. The motion was carried unanimously, and a copy.was ordered to be forwarded to the Minister of Defence.
