TARANAKI METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. The Taranaki Metropolitan Committee met on Tuesday .evening when there were present Messrs. C. M. Lepper (in the chair) 0. W. Sole. L. A. Nolan, W. C. Weston, A. Standish, E. F. Blundell and Col. Ellis. LICENSES. A trainer’s license was granted to Mr. B. T. Bennet, of Patea, and a jockey’s license to W. J. Porter. H. Goldfinch and A. Crear are to be called before the committee to show cause why their jockey’s licenses should not be suspended. RACE MEETINGS. The dates of tho proposed meetings of the several totalisator clubs in the province were submitted and approved l by the committee as follows; —Taranaki Jockey Club —Xmas meeting, December 20 and 27, Autumn meeting, February 12 and 13. Egmont Racing Club —February 5 and 6. and May 14 and 15, 1913. Stratford Racing Club— January 1 and 2. Opunake Racing Club —March 17. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. The Jockey Club met subsequently, the same members being present. Tho Hon. 0. Samuel, M.L.C., was choseu as tho club’s representative at the next meeting of the Racing Conference. It was decided to purchase a copy of Vol. V. of the N.Z. Stud Book. The secretary reported that tho contract for the alteration and improvements to the training track was almost completed. Further proposed improvements to the club’s property were gone into but it was decided to hold all matters over until the incoming committee took office in July. The secretary was instructed to obtain information re an improved water service to the club’s property. The New Plymouth Coursing Club wrote for permission to use a portion of the club’s property in which to hold their meeting. The matter was referred to the course committee for a report. Accounts amounting to £63 14s 7d were passed for payment.
