The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 4,200,000qr5, for the Continent 2,420,000cjr5, Atlantic shipment ]s9,oooqrs, Pacific nil. The total shipments to Europe for the week amounted to 1,170,009qr.5, including Argentine 285.000c}rs, Russian 195,000 qrs, Danubian 240,000qv5, India and Persia 58,000qrs, and Australasia 102,000. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot): Mutton.—The market is quiet, but steady. Light weights are reported to bo in small supply. Canterbury is not quoted, but the average price is nominally 4Jd, North Island 4d for light weights, for heavy weights 3§d. Lambs.—The marker is firm, with good demand for all lamb. Canterbury sjd, other than Canterbury ogd. Beef.—The market is firm, with better demand for beef.. New Zealand hinds 4|d, fores 3J<i. , Butter,—The market is dull, with less demand. Holders are, disposed to meet buyers. The average price for the week for choicest Now Zealand butter 121 s, Australian 117 s, Argentina 116 s, Danish 128 s, Siberian HVs. Cheese.—Good demand. Average i price for the week for finest N.Z. cheese 73s 6d. Hemp.—Market very quiet and nothing doing. Spot, Now Zealand good fair grade, £2l 10s, fair grade £2O, fair current Manila £2l. Forward shipment Now Zealand good fair grade £2O 12s 6d, fair grade £2O ss, fair current Manila £2l 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 26,000 bales. The stock of New Zealand hemp is 289 tons.
