WHANG A-KOHURATAHI SPORTTS.

The . above sports meeting ivas iheld on Easter Monday. The weather was very unfavourable, but there was a fair attendance. The various .events provided excellent sport. F. Carrol, a boy of fourteen, beat large fields .in botli the 220yds. and 440yds. handicaps. The open chop was decided in two heats,’ and the final, was won by Marsh, a local chopper. In the sheep-guessing competition the correct weight, 66Jlb. ,’was fuessed by Messrs, Cleaver and Marsh, he correct number of seeds in . the pumpkin used in this guessing competition was 414, and the nearest guess, 401, .was made by Mr. Boothman..’ A dance was held in the evening, and was a great success.
