THE PREMIER’S TOUR.

VISIT TO OPTJNAKE. Per Press Association, ELTHAM, April 12. The Prime Minister, accompanied by Dr. Fifchett, Public Trustee, visited Opuuake and discussed with residents matters connected with the local Harbour Board, West Coast leases, and various other, subjects. Mr. Mackenzie was cordially received at a public, meeting attended by four hundred people. The town was decorated with bunting. Last night Mr. Mackenzie delivered a lecture in the Elthara Town Hail on exploration in "Western Otago, based on his personal experiences. The lecture was accompanied by scenic, views, followed by a capital series of cinematograph views of the dairying and other industries, now first exhibited and intended to advertise New Zealand in the Old Country. The views included pictures of the processes of butter and cheese making at Eltham And Riverdi\lo and ensilage making at Marton Junction experimental plots. This evening Mr. Mackenzie" repeats -the lecture at Kaponga. He leaves on his return to Wellington on Saturday.
