ST. AUBYN TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the St. Aubyn Town Board rvas held on AVednesday. Present; Messrs. G. E. Blanchard (chairman), AA r . J. Russell, H. Putt/T. Lealand, and F. Hodson. A letter was read from the Town Clerk (Mr. F. T. Bellringer) re work on Cntfield Road, stating that a committee had been appointed to meet the board in connection with this matter. The foreman reported that fifty Yards of gravel had been put on the Devon Line ,in the vicinity of Lorna Street. He also reported that it would be absolutely necessary to give the Belt Road Bridge, over the Mangaotukii Stream, attention as early as possible, as it was quite unsafe for traffic. Mr. Parkin had commenced his gravelling contract on the South Road. He recommended the metalling of the South Road to the full width between Cntfield and Belt Roads as soon as possible. The annual balance sheet for the year ending March 31, 1912, was read, and will be considered at a special meeting during the month of May. Accounts to the amount of £BO were passed for payment. Mr. W. J. Russel! tendered his resignation as a member of the board, owing to ill health.—This was accepted with great regret, and a record was placed on the minutes, showing that his services had been appreciated by members. The Chairman gave written authority to the returning officer (Mr. M. Fleetwood), giving him authority to hold another election to fill the vacancy.
