DUNEDIN WOOL SALES. I’er Press Association. DUNEDIN, Dec. ID. The first wool salo of the season was held to-day, when 3067 hales were offered. There was an exceptionally large number ol buyers from all the chief manufacturing countries ol the world, and the, sale went with a swing from start to finish, very few lots being passed in. One very noticeable feature was the American rompetition, especially for lots of bright Romney or super crossbred wools, Tho wool from the majority of the districts was in decidedly better condition than was tho case last year, being lighter in grease, stronger in staple, and better grown. Tho iollowing prices were realised, the prices for last year being given in parenthesis;—Super merino to 12d (lid to 12LI)-, medium to good. !M to 10id (9d to lOd); inferior, id to 8d (7tl to Sd); super halfhreds. 12d (12d to 13d); medium to good. Slid to IOJo (Old to lid); inferior, "d to Sid (fid to 9d); super crossbred. Kid to ll.pi (lOd to lid); medium to good, Rd to Old (Rid to S)Rl); inferior, 6RI to "Id (GJd to 8d); super pieces, 9RI to lid.
