THE ROYAL PICTURES.
There was a large and enthusiastic house ah the-Theatre Royal on Saturday night to witness the most powerful pictorial programme ye tscreened to picture lovers. The over popular Ijondon Gazette opened tiie first half of the programme, and was well received, pages showing the reception to the Canadian (Jovernor-Cleneral. Jack A rust over the championship course at Putney, launching of a Dreadnought, and Modes of To-morrow. A. West. Bursts of applause greeted by Bathe Ercrcs. met with much approval, while the Vitagraph drama, “A Clown s Best Performance/’ is one of the most emotional pictures yet produced by this well-known firm. "The Animal Craze,” a screaming comic, concluded the first half of the programme. The second portion of tho mammoth bill was taken up by “Life in Our Navy,” specially produced for Alt'. A, West* Bursts of applause greated tliis picture as the many scenes of a sailor's life wore shown. It is without doubt the most instructive and educational film yet soon hero, and no one should miss seeing it. A cornet solo “The Death of Nelson,” was well rendered by Air. Richards. The orchestral accompaniment was all that could he desired; a nautical programme of music was rendered by the Royal Pictures orchestra. This splendid' series will he repeated to-night.
