SAUNDERS’ BIOGRAPH PICTURES. The new films for to-day's programme number some of tho finest in tho kinematograph art. The Itala Coy, are to tho front with a splendidly "mounted picture of the Egyption tragedy "Aida.” Parquali Co. are represented with a magnificent and startling dramatic production “Zara.” Ocher dramatic items are "Swords and Hearts” (A.B. Coy.,) and “The Stage Romance” (Edison). In the comedy section, the Vitagraph little (.") comedian scores an unqualified success in "Subduing Mrs. Nagg.” Instructive films of more than ordinary interest are "Modern School of Cavalry” and “Austrian Tyrol.” "FALL OF TROY.” This famous picture will be shown to a Waitara audience in St. John’s Hall to-night. “OUR NAVY.” The Theatre Royal was well filled with happy children this afternoon when tho "fine educational picture, West’s "Our Navy,” was screened for the first tune in Now Plymouth. This brilliant series was followed with great interest by tho large assemblage. Round after round of applause greeted our "sturdy tars” when they made their first "appearance on tho foredeck of one of England’s mighty cruisers, in the centre of which was the sailors motto, Honour the King. Some of the scenes shown were "Training Future Nelsons,” "Bathing Party,' "Boat Sailing,” "Guns in Days of Nelson,” "David and Goliath Boxing,” "Racing,” “Wake Up England.” This fine picture not only shows “Jack at work and also Jack at play.” Tho lads delight in wrestling, boxing, and such amusing sport as mop fighting. An item of special interest depicted a veteran (92 years of age) placing a wreath on the spot where Nelson fell mortally wounded on his famous ship the Victory. A splendid idea was given of one of tho deadly weapons which Britain has for defence in “Whitehead torpedoes.” Tho torpedo was seen leaving the torpedo tube, skimming just beneath the water surface, and then finally came the explosion. Tho water and wreckage were thrown high into the air and formed a splendid sight. Tho Royal Orchestra will play appropriate music to-night including “The Sea is England’s Glory,” "Over the Sea,” "The Anchor’s Weighed,” “White Squall.” "Dublin Way,” and a cornet solo by Mr. Richards, "The Death of Nelson.” The supiportlng portion of the programme includes Loudon Gazette 135 “La Tosca,” "The Clown’s Best Performasco,” "Animal Craze,” "Sleeping under the Heavens.”
