WOMEN’S SUFFRAGE.
MR. ASQUITH’S VIEWS. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received Dec. 16, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 15. Mr. Asquith, in the course of his reply to a deputation from the National League, said that if a referendum of men alone was taken women would resent the verdict. Personally he was convinced that to give the franchise t« women would bo a mistake of a very disastrous kind. He felt it was time that those holding strong views should take off their coats and put the case against women’s suffrage cogently before the public.
