COMMERCIAL.
AMERICAN WHEAT. The visible American wheat supply is 110,11X1,000 bushels. WEBSTER BROS.’ REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday we had another extra heavy_entry of poultry, our pens being taxed to their utmost. Prices were well maintained throughout, and ducks and turkeys were in good demand. Prices as under : Hens, old Is 4d to Is Bd, young 2s to 3s; cockerels, fat Is 6d to 2s 6d, young Is to Is 4d; ducks, Is Od to 2s bd; drakes, 2s; ducklings, 3;1 to Is od according to size; turkey hens, os; chickens, 3(1 to 4d ; geese, 3s to 4s 2d. The usual line of auction sundries realised satisfactory prices. Furniture. —On Monday, On account of Mrs. Woodard, at her residence in Powderham Street, wc held a clearing sale of all her house furniture. There was a large attendance, and tho furniture being of good quality made satisfactory rates. Fruit.—‘-During the week we have had largo consignments coming in. Prices are still high. We quote: —Bananas, ripe 3d per Ih.. green 14s 6d to lbs case ; apple*, winesaps 18s; strawberries, 7cl to Is 3d lb.; lemons, 3s to 5s Bd ; (iicirios, Bd to lOd lb.; tomatoes, 7d to Bd lb.; gooseberries, 4« 6d to 5s 6d; cucumbers, 8s dozen; grapes, Is 7id to Is 8d lb.; green peas, lid to Hid peck.
