THE BANNER TOURNAMENT. The bowling clubs of Taranaki have combined for the purpose of purchasing a league, championship banner, which will be competed for annually. Tho province has been divided into three districts, the north comprising the New Plymouth, Fitzroy, West End, AVaitara, Stratford, and Inglewood Clubs (Elthain was also included, but owing to certain difficulties which have cropped up in getting a team together, have withdrawn); the south consists of Hawera, Patea, and AVnverley; and the central of Pihama, Mauaia and Opunake. The first round will be played on Thursday. AVEST KND CLUB. The AVest End Bowling Club will be represented by tho following rinks in their match with tho Stratford B Club at Stratford on Thursday, November 1:—J. D. Sole (skip), Bigelow, J. Johnson, T. Sole; Firth (skip), Frank Newell, Hill, Lye; Beal (skip), AA’ood, Greiner, Francis; N. Johnson (skip), F. Lee, Bendall, 11. Leo; Fred Nowell (skip), Bullot, M’Quade, Martin. Players will leave' by tho 12.50 train.
