THE RAILWAY POSITIONS,

The joint committee of tho executive of tho K'aihvaymen’s Association appointed a committee to drau a scheme for the permanent fusion of the various railway unions. Mass meetings of railwaymen at various centres considered the commission’s report. General opinion at the Birmingham, Bradford and Huddersfield meetings favoured a strike for fuller recognition of the unions. The Crowe gathering decided to give the evmtnission’s recommendations a trial. The Llanelly railwaymen announced their decision to strike, but after a stormy meeting postponed their intention.
