The prompt arrest of the leaders in several of the disturbed areas is depressing the ardour of the dear food rioters. Workmen at Fougeres compelled the the shopkeepers to sell at prices fixed by the Labour Exchange. The mob at St. Quentin stoned firemen who were extinguishing an incendiary fire in a grain store. Troops charged the mob, severely injuring several rioters. A bricklayer was caught firing the adjoining granary.
