Sir Robert Stout bad berore Him for sentence on Saturday a youth of twenty who had pleaded guilty to carnally knowing a girl under sixteen at Mangaweka. The ofience had been'committed on tho second cceasu n of his meeting the girl, and Mr. Cooper, ior tho defence. pleaded that the girl was a consenting party, and Unit it was not her lirst. experience.
