INGLEWOOD.

(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) March I.—Wirth’s.Circus gave a most successful performance here on Monday. The crowd was probably the largest that has over assembled at Inglewood, the scaling accommodation of tne large tent being taxed. The proprietors estimate the attendance was 1400. The harvest festival services at the i’rimitjve" Methodist Church passed olf very well last Sunday, notwithstanding the wet weather. The Rev. W. Gatinun conducted both services. I hear that tho Ro.v. D. J. Albert, of the local Presbyterian Church, has .been compelled to resign, owing to continued ill-health. Two gig-loads of sportive individuals, supposed to be sailors from a vessel loading at Waitara, arrived in Inglewood on Monday afternoon, apparently on holiday bent. 1 After exercising their nautical humour in the town lor an hour or two they returned homo, somewhat to the relief of the townspeople. I understand that Mr. Henry Clough lias sold his butchery business to Messrs. Daddy and Hopkiiison. Both partners in the new firm are well known in Inglewood ajid district. The Horticultural Society’s annual show is set down for Thursday and Friday, March 1} and 10. The show is always well supported, and it is expected that this year will be no exception.
