Tho marriages in Now South Wales last year were the highest on record, the rate being by .3 per 1000 the highest since InS6. Tho death rate is 9 per cent, below the mean rate for tho past ten years. Deaths from cancer have doubled in twenty years. Deaths from tuberculosis in the past, year were 6 per cent, below the average for fivo years. Tho result is largely attributed to tho Working Dairies Supervision, Diseased Meat, and Public Health Acts. The excess of births over deaths totalled 27,929. The population of tho State at tho end of the year was 1,645,444.
