INGLEWOOD

(From Our Own Correspondent). Oct. 24.—The English Church bazaar was concluded on Friday evening. Sxcellent business was done, in all departments, the not proceeds of the effort amounting' to over £SO. The main attraction for the evening was Mrs. Jarloy’s wax-works. This lady had got together a most superior collection, all the figures being more than life-like. So much so, indeed, that the audience were treated to the spectacle of a waxwork figure, overcome by the heated room, being gently assisted off the stage. The Norfolk Hoad annual School concert was held in the, sclioolhoiise on Friday evening, the building being literally packed to the doors. The entertainment was given hy the children assisted by one or two Inglewood amateurs. The young people gave evidence of very careful training, and their performance was certainly one of the cleverest ever scon in this district. The concert concluded "with the usual jolly country dance. The whole of Mr. W. H. Carsten’s Inglewood town properties wore put up at Messrs. Matthews and Bennett’s mart on Satnrd.iv afternoon. Bidding was not particularly brisk, and only one property changed hands under the hammer. Considerable interest was token in the sale. The weather has been quite summerlike for the past few days, and longing eyes have been cast at the close front door of the local baths. The baths arc expected to open on November 1. ,
