WEDDING.
SHIRLEY —SIEVERS. At St. John's Church, Wanganui, on Thursday afternoon, a pretty wedding was celebrated, when Air. Ernest Forbes Shirley, of Auckland, formerly of the Taranaki Herald’s printing staff, was united, in tho bonds of holy matrimony to Aliss Olivo Louise Sievcrs (Nicholas), of Wanganui. The bride was given away by her uncle, Air. J. C. Richardson, and looked very becoming in a beautiful gown of cream Striped ninon do sole, trimmed with silk insertion, silk fringe, and tassels. She carried a lovely shower bouquet, and wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. Little Misses'Stella Richardson and Thelma Carroll, cousins of the bride, fulfilled the duties of bridesmaids. They wore attired in long white silk drosses trimmed in gold, and wore pretty poke bonnets and carried shepherds’ crooks. Mr. J. Shirley, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. After the ceremony, which, was performed by the Ven. Archdeacon Jacob, the guests were entertained at the residence of Air. J. G. Richardson. The bridesmaids’ presents wen' gold bangles, the bridegroom’s present to tho bride was a turquoise necklei, and the bride’s present to the bridegroom was a gold ring and curb chain. The wedding (reports the Wanganui Chronicle) was unique in that motor cars were the only vehicles which were used by the gnosis, and by tbo newlymarried couple, who departed for the south.
