' THEIR BONES DISCOVERED. By Electric Telegraph. —Copyright SYDNEY. Oct. 21. Dr. Deck, of the South Sea Evangelical Mission, in a letter, gives an interesting account of a discovery while exploring the island of Guadalcanal- of bones of members of the Austrian scientific expedition under Baron von Norbcck, murdered fourteen years ago. The baron’s party included the first white men to visit the island. While climbing a mountain they wore surrounded by hordes of natives and killed. Afterwards the savages ate five members of the party, including Norbook and a midshipman named De Beaufort. The bones were found scattered about and overgrown with vegetation. One skull showed where it had been pierced by an axe.
