Interviewed regarding tho Licensing Bill, Mr. Martin Kennedy, a leading - member of the trade, declared that it gave several vital concessions to tho No-Liconso Party, “Wo must,” ho said, “either have some j security , for tho trade or national prohibition. Wo recognise it is not fair, it is not honest, to induce people to vote uo-lioonse with the • knowledge ‘ that they may have abundance of liquor in their homes.” 'Mr. A. S. Adams, legal adviser to the New Zealand Alliance,; reserved his official opinion of tho IJill, bui expressed a guarded approval <?f the concessions.
