MOTHERS’ DAY.
TO BE OBSERVED IN MAY. Per Press Association. , . DUNEDIN, Sopt. 28. At the Women’s Christian Temperance Union this afternoon Mrs. Wright read a paper on ‘'Mothers’ Day,!’ giving reasons why mothers should bo honoured. "After discussion it was resolved that “Mothers’ Day’! be observed in May. It was! decided that each union appoint a local deputation to wait on a, member of Parliament'for the electorate and ask him to use his influence, to got the Biblo-in-Schools Referendum Bill introduced.
Mr, Gain road a paper on “Bands of ' Hope,” and it was resolved to ask; tho Dominion Union to procure suitable charts and literature for educational work among tho Bands of Hope. • It was decided to offer the Dunedin Competition Society a prize of £2 for a tomporanco essay or recitation.
