Dealing with the financial agreement between the States and tho Commonwealth, Mr. Deakin, Federal Premier, declared that it would mean a gain of £2,30Q,000 yearly to the Commonwealth and that it would lift Australia out of difficulties. Tho policy of tho Government was to close broaches, heal wounds and to unite the States for tho .welfare of Australia. The future of Australia lay in, the depth of the sincerity of its union and the obliteration of class prejudice and class legislation. ■ . _ ■ Regarding Lord Kitchener’s visit, tho Premier said the Government had appealed to Caesar and would be bound to Caesar's* judgment.
