SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST A YOUTH. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Feb. 11. John Minton Pauli was before the court this morning, charged with shooting with intent to murder. The police asked for a remand for a week. Accused’s counsel did not object, but applied for bail, which was refused. Pauli is about nineteen years of age, and was employed by a local firm of grain merchants as . a junior clerk. The affair has created a profound sensation, as accused is well known locally.
