It is reported that tho Railway Department has suspended,> pending tho official inquiry, a locomotive foreman arid a fitter at one of the stations on tho Stawell line. , Tho Trades Hall carried a motion viewing with alarm the increasing number of railway accidents, and condemning the policy of tho Railway Commissioners, whose desire, it is alleged, was to show a profit. This, it said, led to an undermanning of the service.
