NEWCASTLE COAL.

CHRISTOHURCH, Dec. 29. The contractors for the supply of Newcastle coal have written to the City Council stating that owing to the strike they are unable to surnly any more coal, and asking to be relieved of responsibility as provided in the strike clauses oi the contract.
