MAIL NOTICES.

Mails for Chatham Islands (via Lyttelton) close here on December 30. POST AND TELEGRAPH HOLIDAYS. Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day being Post and Telegraph Holidays, the following boars will be observed : — Postal Branoh. — Saturday, December 25, and January 1 (Christmas and New Year's Day) will be observed «« close holidays. Mouday, December 27, fojr Boxing Day, #>st Offices will be open in all branches (except money order ftpd savings bank, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Letter carriers will make one complete delivery, starting at 7.80 a.m. All receivers will be cleared at 8 p.m. on Friday evenings, December 24 and 31. All mails usually made up on Saturday will be closed at &.30 p.m. on Fridays, December 24 and 31. A special delivery of correspondence will be made over the public counter on the*evenigns of Fridays, Deoember 24 arid 31, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Private box lobby will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. pn December 25 and January 1, and open as usual on December 27. The Railway Travelling Post Office will run as usual on all the holidays. Telegraph Branch.— The Telegraph Office will be open from 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Christmas Day ; from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight on Boxing Day. and on New Year's Day the hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Telephone Exchange — The Telephone Exchange will be open from 9 .a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Christ, mas Day and open a* usual on Boxing Pay and New Year's Day. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 29, For Auckland and North, per Rarawa, at 7 p.m. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 30. For Australian States (due Sydney January 4), also Continent of Europe and United Kingdom, via Suez (due in London February 4), at 6.15 a.m. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 31. For Auckland and North, per Rarawa at 7 p.m. All mails usually dispatched on Saturday, January 1, will olose at 8,80 p.m. on Friday, Deoember 81. Mails for Chatham Islands close here on December 30. Next mail for United Sttttej and Canada (vja San Franoisao) closes hero on Monday, January 3, 1910, »t 8 15 a.m. (Due in London on February 7.)
