A SURPLUS OF £146,760. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. The State Treasurer delivered the Budget to-night. The revenue for the year ended June 13 was £8,195,400. and expenditure £8,048,643, the surplus being £146,760. The railways produced a surplus of £300,000, while in the general revenue was a deficit of £153,297. The estimated revenue for the current year is £8,427,650 and the expenditure £8,421,268. There will be no increase in taxation, but it is proposed under the new Income Tax Bill to provide for additional revenue during the next financial year.
