Mr. O. West has been appointed clerk and meter reader in the borough electric light department, and Master A. W. Morey junior clerk in the Town Clerk's office. His Excellency the Governor was due in Wellington from Auckland yesterday, and was to leave the same evening for Dunedin. lie will return to Wellington on the 25th instr, and leave for Auckland the same day. On October 4 his Excellency and Lady Plunket will return to Wellington for. the opening of Parliament. Mr.' J. 'A_. j£oph, who has been for sonia years accountant in tho Hawera branch of the Bank of New Zealand; and lately roliovinjj; mnjiager a.t Manaia, has r-oiicived notice of transfer to Wairoa, Hawke'a Bay, to which office he has butm appointed manager.
