THE COURT'S JURISDICTION.

AUCKLAND, Sept. 18. Mr. Kettle, S.M., gave his reserved decision this morning, holding that the Court had jurisdiction in the Rarawa inquiry. The Court was satisfied there had been material damage and that the occurrence therefore came under section 133 of the Act, but to enable the parties to refer the question to the iuprenfe Court, he would defer consideration of the question of liability for 'ten days. Both sides expressed a desiwfor the Court to give a decision without delay. Mr. Kettle said he would deliver the decision early next week:
