Messrs. Webster Bros, report: — Mart. — At the mart on Saturday we had a good entry of poultry, and prices were better than at close of last sale. Hens, young, 1» lid to 2s 4d ; pullets, 2s 6d to 2s 8d : old hens. Is 6d to Is 9d ; ducks, 2s to 2s 4d j chicks, fid to 9d : cockerels, Is lid to 2s 4d. Trees and shrubs, sold at late rates. Meat.— Our weekly sale of meat was held at the .mart on Saturday. Prices were about tbe same as at previous sale, and bidding was brisk tbroughont. Prices were as nnder: Sirloin. •?Hd to 4d^ ribs, 3d to 3*d; rounds. 2*d to 8d ; rump steak, 3sd : brisket. 2d to 21d? fore-quarters mutton, 2|d to 3d; hind-quarters, 3*d to 4d ; loin 4d to 4H ; rabbits. Is to Is 3d per pair. Fruit.— There has not been much fruit coming forward during the past week, large supplies being on hand, tbe demand being mostly for oranges and apples. Prices: Oranges, repacks 11s fid to 13s 6d; bananas, ripe. 9s 6d to 10s; bananas, poorer, 6s to 8s; apples. Pioneers 8s 6d to 10s. Stunners, 8» 9d to 10s 3d. Californian Gravensteins, 11s to 12s, Red Desserts 9s to 10s; pnmnkbis, 2s 6d sack; mandarins, poor, 6s 9d to Bs.
