[L»rd Twoedmouth, who it 60 year* of age, was educated at Harrow and an Christ Church, Oxford. He was appointed a barrister of the Inner *Petofle> in 1874. He afterwards entered politics and was Liberal M.P. for Bervd«k in 1880-94 ; Comptroller to Household, 1886; Parliamentary Secretary to Treasury, and Chief Liberal Whip. 1892-84. He Was Lord Privy Seal and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancashire, 18044)5; First Lord of the Admiralty, 1906-8? and Lord President of the Owmcil, 1906.]
