THE DEVELOPMENT BILL.

Mr. Balfour strongly protested against Mr. Lloyd-George's resolution enabling 'the Standing Committee on the Development Bill to sit simultaneously in tlie House. Ihe resolution was adopted. Mr. Asquith, Premier, recently hinted that the bill might he dropped n opposed. The present decision to i'oi'i it through is interpreted as> havinfe « connection with the prospect of v general election.
