LEPPERTON J UNCTION

(To the- Editor.) Sir,. — Will you kindly inform me, together with many or your readers, particularly travellers, why the notice board " Lcpperton Junction " is hidden away almost from sight under the station verandah, while there is ample room ior its being placed in a cons|)kiioiis position and abolish the oft.isked and tooth-worn query "What station 19 this'" A terminus and Btart111^ point such as Lepperton Junction .should have far more prominence than it now possesses. For example, how are passengers to know, especially sti angers, what station they have arrived at, notwithstanding the fact that it in shouted lustily by the station master in charge, together with his assistants? The above can he easily remedied by having the notice boards placed on each side of the signal box, where there is ample board room ; even better still, do you not think the station of sufficient importance to erect a notice board on each end of the platform, in older to notify passengers where they havo arrived at, and to grte as much prominence as possible - 1 It appears as though tho board v ashamed of itself and likes to creep into itself out of sight, like the person who is responsible for having it placed there and in such a position. As there is now a gang or railway carpenters situated mighty adjacent to the vicinity of Lopperton Junction, and as some or them have plenty of time on their hands and to spare, I would suggest to the district engineer and his subordinates to have the above remedied, as it is very far from giving the necessary satisfaction one would expect to receive in the matter of information at such a station as Lepperton Junction. — I am, etc., PKO BONO PUBLICO.
