The settlers between Huiroa ami Kiore, the new section about to be opened oil the Toko branch ot railways, are to lie congratulated on their entorpribe in agieeing to v loan to metal their roads. This should open up ior dairying purposes a strip ot rich country which has hitherto been de\oted chietly to sheep and cattle grazing. This fertile valley is one ol tlio wannest corners oi the Taranaki district, being sheltered lrom t ho MHith by the dividing ridge between Douglas and Huiroa, and from the north by the dividing ridge which lorms the watershed between the Waitara and Pa tea basins. Already a cheese factory is at work at Kiore, and another is iv course ol erection near Huiroa. Two milking machines ore already at work. The shepherd must give place to the dairyman.
