CANTERBURY GRAIN.

Per Press Association • CHRISTCHURCH, Jane 10. The grain grown this season and carried over the railways in Canterbury from February 1 to May 31 totalled 1,570,000 sacks, as against 850,000 flacks for the same period of last year, the increase being .720,000 sacks. The figures quoted da not include for either year the grain carried from, the stores at Timaru to the ships at Timaru, nor tho grain from the stores at Addinfcton and Christchnrch to the ships at' Lyttelton. There are large quantities of grain still in the country districts awaiting carriage over the railways.
