DEATH OF A CIRL.
• EVIDENCE SHE HAD TO GIVE. A aiii named Elisabeth L. Greenwood died to-day under peculiar circumstances at Panmure. The deceased, who was nnder sixteen years of age, was a witness in a, case against a man named Frank Tate, who is to come up for trial on a charge of having had improper relations with her .while she was under age. A constable received a message this morning to the «ffecti;hat the gifl had been suddenly taken ill, and oa visiting the house he found her in a T«ry low state. ' The constable jrt once summoned medical aid, but tne girl died within ten. minutes of Dr. Barber's arrivaf. It ift stated'that the cirl told an acquaintance raat she iaFended to take "rough x>n rats," but no lfesd was paid to the threat.
