Tho Shah's action in pranting » susliension of t\n> s'wpe and^ allowing Tabriz to be provisioned is due to the Nationalists' powerful appeal to him to rescue the common country from forlii'n intervention and the danger of partition. All tho political offenders at Tabriz nnd Teheran have since been amnestied.
