FINANCE COMMITTEE

The Finance Committee wide the follow ing recommendations dealing w ith 'correspondence received' — '1 hat the subsidy granted to the Stratford com mitteo for the shekel shed bo paid , that the Rowan committee be informed in reply to its letter of Apnl 10 that the Hoard does not approve of adding a room to the school building so that it might be used ns a residence, also that the Board does not feel warranted in applying to the Department for a teacher's residence; that it be further informed that it is the duty of the teacher to report any damage done to school property, and that the person doing the damage Js the responsible party to make such damage good : that Mr. C. Musker be allowed rent at 2-; fid a week for the Uruti Road School ; that a new typewriter be procured for the inspector's office and charged against the technical fund; that the chairman be authorised to accept a tender for printing the Board's annual report , that the Huiakama committee's request for new piles under the school building be referred to tho architect with instructions to have the work done; that in answer to tho Hillsborough School Committee's request for a close paling fence around the teacher's residence the committee be informed the! Board will supply the necessary material for a post nnd wire fence and plants for a live hedge.
