COURAGE THAT CAN ENDURE.

A THANKSGIVING SERVICE. I*q: Press Association. I . 11? i I'CHURCH, March 28. Lieut hhackleton, with tho officers and men of the Antarctic expedition, attended thanksgiving service in the Cathedral this morning, when there, was a large congregation. Bishop i Julius preached from Psalm 106, verses 6 and 7. In the course of the sermon, he said he had no sympathy with those who said that no adventure be engaged in unless there was money in it, nor with those who said men had no right to risk their lives in the pursuit or that which, as they thought, seemed of little value to the world. * " Continuing, he said: "New Zealand has done well to give her Dreadnought to Imperial services, and having gitffen it, I trust everyone nvill have a measure of some sacrifice in that gift and pay for it. But, my brethren, it is these men that are our 'dreadnoughts. 1 These men dread nought because there is in them, handed down through^fche long ages, gathered from their fathers, granted to them Tjy the Grace of Qod, courage that can endure, the proof strength for service that can carry them through infinite dangers, and I can see the heart of the whole nation lifted up because they know that besides the ships we have the men who can stand to our country in her need: men that can serve and die for love of her."
