ANNIVERSARY DAY.

Tho anniversary function' at Moturoa will be carried cut on picnic lines. The s.s. Rarawa will (weather permitting) run one or more excursion trips. Sports and amusements ars in the hands or a committee. Mr H. Putt, sen., has donated £1 Is towards the prize fund. The Mayor is donating several trophies for pioneers' and veterans' races. Mr. R. Cock is giving a pig, which will be greased and liberated, to become the property of the person who catches it. The pioneers and veterans will be welcomed by the Mayor and Councillors m the committee's pavilion at 2.30. Arrangements will be made to entertaui the early pioneers and veterans to artornoon tea at 3 o'clock, and the group will be photographed afterwards.

The cadet battalion will parade at the Drill Hall to-morrow afternoon at 2.30 to take part in the ceremony ot unveiling the hatchments at St. Mary s Church.
