WAITARA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Waitara Kiik-o was held on Monday evening. C'apLain Pope presiding. The statement of accounts showed a credit balance of Jc'6s 12s 3d. The capitation account showed a credit of £35 8s Id, and the battalion uniform account ' showed a credit of the Waitara Rifles oi £47 10d. The general committee consists of Colour-Sergeant Brabant, Sergeant Klenner, Lance-Corporal Liuimcr, Corporal E. Andrews and Corporal Tato; shooting committee, Corporal O. .) ennuis, Private N. Soffe, Private Wilkins, Corporal Limmer. Private 11. M'Kay, Sergeant C. H. iSainpkou and l J rivate Thomas. Bugler J. Lalny; was elected secretary. A hearty volo of thanks was accorded the ladies' who assisted at the annual ball. It was decided to carry out a series of euchre parties during the winter. At a meeting of the Clifton Rowing Club it was decided to present the trophy medals to the winning drew at the club's annual social on April 12. The secretary was instructed to write and thank Mr. Lake for the donation of the medals.. The club's crew had still been kept in training for the Mokau regatta, which takes place on Saturday next. They leave by brake on Friday morning. Miss Edwards, who has for some twelve years been mistress of the Waitara school, has sent /in bet; resignation. - Captain Pope, of the Waitara Rifles, has- received notification that he has passed, his examination as captain in the New Zealand Defence Force.
