FOOTBALL.

THE INGLEWOOD CLUB.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting ot the Inglewood United Football Club was held in Binnington's Hall last night, the president, Mr Fred Spurdle, being in the chair. The attendance was small. The Secretary read the report and statement of accounts. The report was as follows : —

"We herewith present to you the annual report and statement of receipts and expenditure for the past season. A small credit balance is shown in the statetment of receipts and expenditure, but there has been an actual loss on the year's working of 19s, which is satisfactory, considering that only one team was playing all the season. The Juniors forfeiting their first two matches were consequently out of the competition in their grade. ''Although our senior fifteen was not succesf ul in scoring a win, the members deserve greaf credit in playing every match except the one against Elthain at Eltham. "The District Shield matches were keenly, contestetd, especially towards tho latter end of the season, and we hope to see them resumed again this year. "The Committee's thanks are due to Mrs A. Sutherland for donating a gold sovereign case to the best forward (won by Mr L. Olson) and to Mr H. J. M. Thomson for donating a silver watch and chain to the best back (won by Mr R. Cleave). . "Since last season the football ground has been ploughed, levelled and re-sown at a cost of £19 13s, and the thanks of all members of the Club are due to the Inglewood Domain Board for their subsidy of £9 11s and to the* ladies and gentlemen who kindly subscribed the balance and enabled your committee to carry out this very necessary work. You will be called upon to elect officers for the*ensuing year. and we wish the Club every success in the coming season."
